Even split-time planner
Allocate a target total time proportionally across equal-distance checkpoints.
How this works
Even pace = target total minutes ÷ total distance in kilometers. Cumulative time at each checkpoint = target total minutes × checkpoint distance/total distance. Checkpoints advance by the entered split distance, with the last checkpoint shortened if needed to end exactly at the total distance.
Example
The illustration may use different inputs from the reproducible default inputs listed below.
The default 10 km in 60 minutes gives 6:00 per km. At 1 km the cumulative target is 6:00; at 2 km it is 12:00, continuing to 60:00 at 10 km. With all reset-default inputs, even pace (min:sec per km): 6:00.
- Total distance (km)
- 10
- Target total time (minutes)
- 60
- Split distance (km)
- 1
- Even pace (min:sec per km)
- 6:00
Scope and assumptions
The split list reports cumulative elapsed times, not the time for each individual segment. It allows at most 100 checkpoints and does not model terrain, fatigue, stops or changing pace. Times are rounded to seconds and are arithmetic targets, not training advice.
