Interquartile range
Find the middle-half spread and outlier fences.
How this works
Quartiles are medians of the lower and upper halves, excluding the overall median for odd n.
Example
Using the example inputs, interquartile range is 4.
- Values (at least 4)
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
- Interquartile range
- 4
Scope and assumptions
Other software may use interpolated quartiles and return different results. Fences flag candidates, not proven errors.
